0% financing at checkout. One listing, one stock pool.

The problem

Financed and paid-in-full were duplicate listings. A bank payment canceled after checkout left orders stuck, with stock held and no alert.

The decision

In September 2026 I shipped 0% financing at checkout, so customers can spread the cost of hardware over time. One listing sells on both plans, paid in full or 0% financing, from a single stock pool.

I migrated in five staged steps without breaking the live store. Shared contracts gained plans on the catalog and a financed price. The quote builder picks the plan. One product card offers a finance or pay-in-full choice. A deploy-time migration merged the duplicate listings and retired them.

The result

Each financed unit has an installment schedule, with due-date rules and resale and payoff handling. Installments count toward the customer's account standing in the billing service.

I added a payment-canceled decision that flags the order for manual review and emails accounts receivable.
